Private Notes, Game Notes, Chess Puzzles, and Conditional Moves
There is a way to take private notes on this site. If one clicks on my stats and profile, followed by notes, he or she could make a list of private notes that no one else knows about. However, there is a limited amount of space for this. In other words, there is only enough room to fit a body paragraph, in my opinion. In chess, though, I find private notes extremely helpful, almost as much as annotated games. That is because it allows the player type in and work on his or her week areas in chess. In my opinion, this will help the person to remember what he or she could do to play better chess, and it will to improve the player's rating.

Most of the time conditional moves are helpful. However, I learned the hard way that if one is not careful with conditional moves, they can be quite harmful.

Conditional moves also cannot be harmful if you have an inevitable mating pattern. BTW, I have not used the chess puzzles for about a year, and I have not been able to any of those mating patterns, until this game against harz. The conditional moves started with 30. Bc5+. I had to be very careful with this one, though by remembering my mistake against anitam. Otherwise, it would have been 30. Qa1. This move would have been bad because I might have lost, if he had played 31. Nf1. This was implied in my game note, and this was, BTW my first game note.

The link to the game yo speak of...
Hey Jkarp, you have not provided a link to the game or puzzle you speak of. Maybe it is in one of the comments you deleted. Please reinsert the link. Thanks, Scott

This is the game where I remembered a chess puzzle that I solved and transposed into reality. In addition, I used the game notes immediately after I had set the conditional move, from move 31, until the end. In this case, my game notes were conditional moves that were not set. gameknot.com

BTW, I have been using game notes more frequently, and I enjoy this feature. That is supported with this link. gameknot.com
