Who is your favorite world chess champion
Personally speaking i enjoy the game of M. Botvinnik, but i grew up as a Fischer fan. I enjoy the simple play that he had and many players try do play in the same sytle, me included. I have started too read the games of G. Kasparov and man they are truly exciting. There are many examples of that in he's games. So would you like too share your champion and why with the world..........

My Favorite Chess champions.
Bobby Fischer 1943–2008
I started playing chess in the 50's and was inspired to join my first chess club because of the games of Bobby Fischer. As brilliant as his chess was his life was a tumultuous one.

Vasily Vasilievich Smyslov, 1921-2010
I had the great pleasure of playing GM Smyslov in a simultaneous exhibition At the Paul Mason winery back in the 70's & I still have an autographed copy of his book "My Best Games of Chess".

David Bronstein 1924-2006
He was never World Champion although he drew the 1951 challenge match for the title of World Champion by a score of 12–12 with Mikhail Botvinnik, the reigning champion.
I like Bronstein's Bronstein seeking to amplify the ideas behind players' moves, rather than the analysis of moves that never made it onto the scoresheet. He was not the best endgame theorist, that title belongs to Capablanca in my opinion. He played the King's Gambit in top level competition, one of my favorites in blitz games.

My favorite player
I know many would not agree with me but i think that the greatest chess player ever to walk the
face of the Earth was Alexander Alekhine 1892-1946.

See that what makes the question so hard... i really enjoy his game's also. but what i think is the best thing about all these champions is that they did this the hard way. in a world when you can turn on the computer and search the newest game's of your interest they sat down a put their minds too work.....

Natalia Pogonina and Juliet Polgar
Natalia's description is shown below in the link below. gameknot.com Juliet Polgar is the best female chess player, and the eighth best player, in the world. I only read one of her articles, but that article made me realize that chess is mostly about psychology. Psychology usually plays a bigger role, then your candidate moves. In fact, I have lost more games due to psychology, then my actual blunders.

Breyer and Smyslov
As a player, Gyula Breyer for his creative, resourceful, inventive, and daring genius.

As a World Champion, the champion whom Karpov notably neglected to mention during a recent interview where he spoke about "all" the world champions:
my favorite is that master of orchestrating harmony among deployed pieces, Vassily Vassilievitch Smyslov.

Alekhine and Fischer
I agree with brigadecommander. I have seen and analyzed games from all of the world champions, and my favourite - for the brilliant clarity of his games - is Alekhine, with Fischer as a close second.
That is not to say that I don't admire them all; I do. They each have their strengths, weaknesses, and human foibles. It's an integral part of what makes them fascinating for us. Well - most of them; Karpov usually makes me fall asleep...
