 Practicing OpeningsMany of us are always trying to explore new openings, or variations of them, to learn them. So I thought we could use a thread to get club members to play each other specific openings. Players declare which openings they want to practice and as which color, and we match them up (rather, they match each other up). Or we could match a player who wants to practice an opening with another who is quite experienced in it. For instance, I've recently started playing the Queen's Gambit, after years of always staying away from it just because it is not very familiar to me. However, I really want to improve my play in it, both as Black and as White. If someone else shares similar interests, we could play a game with agreed-upon first moves (1. d4 d5 2. c4, or more moves even). When games are over, people could post them here for others to check out too. Hope you guys like the idea! Cheers, Jad |
