Recommended Chess Software
For Windows XP users, I highly recommend the Chessmaster 9000 software program. It contains a sophisticated "classroom," flexible "gameroom," and many more features. You can purchase much more highly advanced programs for more money, but you can't beat Chessmaster 9000 for its value.

For more demanding chessmen and those with a Vista platform, I recommend Chessmaster: Grandmaster Edition. (While this program is also XP compatible, be sure your display adaptor is compatible with the program before purchasing.) This program has all of the 9000 features plus many more. Moreover, the Grandmaster Edition is much more interactive.

I purchase most of my software from Amazon. Chessmaster 9000 is currently available from Amazon's Marketplace for less than $12 (new). I am told it can also be purchased at Best Buy for around $10. Chessmaster: Grandmaster Edition can be purchased new directly from Amazon for $20.
