Proud Captain of Majestic Knights
I'm. Very proud of what my team has demonstrated and accomplished in such a short time. Today the 5th of September ,just 4 days after my birthday ,my guys gave me a great birthday gift placing us 22nd. For any of you co captains hestitant to take the leap to captain, I have to tell ya, you'll grow and cut away from all the drama because when your captain . The only people you answer to is your team and that's a pleasure when they show the intestinal fortitude my knights have shown. I really wish all of you other teams all the success in the world even if your ahead of my team and even if we bumped heads when I was a co cappy. Thanks

Hello, my name is Joe, also known as jkarp, on this site. I am the captain of team Teachers and Learners, previously known as Balance. Things have changed because I want everyone to be able to get what they need, to improve their chess skills. Afterall, the glass is half full, not half empty.

Introducing Chess_nuts
We are a brand new team, but I have several players asking to join... we want to play games were we hoenstly want to enjoy the game and I wont pressure my team about numbers and ratings. Communications are excellent within the team, and I find that is helpful in motivating a them to do well (from experience). I have left the Underdogs for personal reasons and aspire to having a solid team with a heart and great communications. So far, so good.

Good luck Cathy!
Good luck Cathy for your new team!I'm always happy when a woman starts a new team!
thank you elena!
I'm happy to be "representing" for the female presence here! thank you again!
Good luck, Cathy
Your philosophy is my philosophy and so far it's working for us. If it's not fun, then it's not worth doing! Best of luck to you and your brand new team!

Thank you Mistee!
Do you often get flirted with during games? lol It makes me more determined to comp some pieces off the board. I started playing sloppy after leaving my previous team, but now back in the groove & will get my ratings back soon.
Hahahaha...nope!
Most of my opponents do not enjoy chatting in any way, shape or form. I have learned to be quiet during my games unless I am encouraged to talk (which is by getting a reply to any obscure comment I might make...I don't need much encouragement!). It's been a struggle for me to keep quiet! All that being said....I have had a few flirts here and there, but not very often.
Mistee I was playing someone really sassy & flirty once... I looked and they were only 15!! lol I dont remember boys flirting with older women when I was younger... strange how its changed.
HAHAHAHA....you cougar! :D
I've gotten a few young ones too but you win with the 15 year old! But one time, a guy gave me his phone number.
lol @ cougar
Ohhh a phone number! Wow that is bold..

@mistee
Although I do not my opponents and I do not usually talk or socialize during my games, on Gameknot. I like to socialize a lot in threads, some annotations, and in most of my games against Jack Stockel. Of course, that is not flirting. Instead, I am a student who is learning more about chess, as that is an OTB coaching. However, the threads are important. I like to keep threads, and posts more interesting by adding to them. One way of doing that is by chitchatting, not flirting per se. But, I am a very social, with what I mentioned, but outside of chess, as well.

@jkarp...yes....
Most people on here take their chess seriously and I respect that by not bombarding them with my idle chitchat after the initial hello and good luck. You can tell early on who doesn't mind chitchat and who does seem to mind it. But if I lose my queen or another important piece, or make really stupid move, I can't help saying something like "oops!"...or..."darn!". Most times I get no response, but that's ok. It makes me feel better. I try to keep my language clean during those times, but I let some colorful expressions fly out of my mouth at times. It's a good thing my opponent has no audio of me during our games.

HELLO :)
Just call me E. I am the co-capt. for Catslaw (Caption) team: Chess_Nuts. I too am learning "Tricks-of-the-trade" Having learned to play just over a year ago, I'm still learning about matching teams, and such. I Love Chess! Have allot in common with fellow chess players. A love for science, art, etc. Love to socialize, although as Mistee mentioned, I do not always chat with everyone. Like people with kind and considerate attitudes, but will not tolerate rude or obnoxious players! "Its just a game" is my attitude Lets have some fun with it! Any tips on anything is considered and appreciated! Thank you for having me on the form!!
