Obtaining player references when applying to join teams
guys - when employers consider someone for a position they often obtain character or work
references.

we should do the same here.

when a player leaves a team there is often a reason. when that same player applies to join
your team why not contact their former captain and ask why they left, were they a team
player etc etc.

you can see what team they played for by selecting the 'team rating' on the players profile
page and the team name will be displayed in the lefthand column. one thing I've learnt here is
that the majority of team captains will consider any reasonable request and there is much
respect between us so it's not a big ask.

of course I've had players leave my team of their own accord, but some I've booted for
timeouts and then looked them up a month or two later only to see them in another team and
timing out again (probably still without good reason).

Not a bad idea chilli! For those team capts where timing out is obviously important to them, the majority it seems, this, along with other tips and tricks previously covered, can help to minimise the occurrence.

I think I could make use of this kind of system.

here's another tip
you can see the number and names of teams a member has had previously by going to the
players profile page, click their 'team rating' number and then you can see their previous teams in
the 'team' column on the left
