Can anyone advise this guy?
From ricardoruben
Hello Sir,

I have encountered a problem here on gameknot and I can not find the way to alert the guys who run the site, I would appreciate that if you know any of them or have a way to let them know you will. Thank you.

The message:

Pleople of gameknot:

This is the only way I found to try and warn you about was is happening here on gameknot, please if you know any of the guys that run the site, let them know.

Recently I have found that most players in blitz chess have their chat option disabled. It was strange and I was wondering why.

Then, two games in a row with two different players, while in a completely winning position, my connection was lost. In one case I could not even reconnect.

The result was that I got mad and went to search for another site and ended up playing 5 more hours on another chess site having no problems with the connection.

Before playing here I used to play in yahoo but because of that same problem (they where sending scripts to delay you) I ended up leaving. I have never played again there, because I found gameknot, I liked it, and I didn't need anything else.

Now this is happening and if it keeps happening I will leave gameknot and find a place to play where the other players are not given the change to do such things.

One idea is that you could disable automatically the chat option after the first tree moves and the moment the game is over, enable it automatically again, so you can greet your opponent. Maybe that might work until you find a way to control this guys.

Thank you.

Contacting Gameknot
Charles:

It appears folks were distracted from your question of how to contact Gameknot. Gameknot
has made it difficult for members to contact the site's administration. Here is one route:

-Click on "site map" which his located at the very bottom of any Gameknot page.

-Once in the site map page, scroll down to Account Management and click on Contact
Gameknot. A message line box will appear asking you to enter a short description of the
problem. I typed in "Denial of Service in Blitz" and clicked on submit.

-FAQ questions will appear and the last question will be "I was not able to find an answer to
my question, how do I contact Gameknot directly?" Click on "click here" in the answer and a
message box will appear where you can fully explain and submit the problem.

If anyone knows a quicker way to contact the Gameknot Administration, please let us know.

Many thanks but....
Many thanks, but I was not asking the question, merely passing on a message I had received out of the blue.
It looks like that guy has left Gameknot...

Contacting Gameknot
Well, it's here for the next person who wants to contact the administration.

This came in very useful. Was pointed out to me that a captain appears to be cheating. You look at his past game history and he loses all (most) ladder games and wins all (most) team games. If anyone wants to check it out send me an IM and I will provide you with the player name.

In the meantime he is being reported.

Thanks SBT.

Also, aside, I did not report the post that was deleted. Someone else reported it to GK and they sent a message to me. I feel it is proper that if a message is reported and it does (even if it is on the edge) seem appropriate, it will be deleted.

I would like to point out that the message as posted could also be regarded as a violation against the GK policies, because it can be seen as promotion of other chess sites over GK.

Actually, I feel definitely feel for you, ed_norton. I think that GK is definitely too strict when it comes to protecting their interests against other chess websites. But I just wanted to give everyone a fair warning, because I have witnessed what might happen if one mentions competing chess sites at the GK Forums, and I don't think Club Forums would be much different. If you want to "fight the power", I really won't mind; but I want you to understand the risks involved.

MaCa.

response from gk admin:

Hello, chilliman,

Yes, if you could please delete the post in question, it would be very much
appreciated. Not only he is intentionally (and knowingly) promoting another
chess website, but he is also being rude and insulting to others in the same
post. Thank you.

Thank you for choosing GameKnot as your premier chess battlefield!

Best regards,
