When was the last time you played OTB?
I can't remember the last time I played chess with real pieces, in fact it would be at least two years, probably double that. anyone else just play online these days? if so, do you think you play better/worse as a result of not playing the 'old-fashioned' way?

I play regularly during the school year against a colleague and the students. Since summer holidays, I haven't played a real game, but I'll get a couple in over the summer and then back to my routine of 2-5\day at chess club.

I played last season (Sept '11-May '12) for Kidderminster and Worcestershire, and I plan to play for Pen-y-ffordd in '12-'13

I play daily
with my husband. We usually keep a game going....sort of like online....we make our moves when we can. He usually wins, but it's getting more difficult for him. I actually beat him last week. Maybe I'm FINALLY becoming a challenge for him! But I have to say that I really miss the analyze feature when playing on a board.

Rusty at OTB
Jon (my team co-capt) did an OTB tourney this weekend. I tagged along and played some skittles while he was playing his rounds. I don't like tournaments much, they stress me out. Skittles is much more fun. Did ok on the slow games, but took a while to get back into Blitz. Won a few, lost a few. Overall pleased (especially with some resounding wins against males not expecting to be beaten by an unfamiliar woman player) but it's obvious I need to balance online and OTB better. I might do the American Open this Thanksgiving weekend. However I should sharpen up my OTB game or I could get massacred.
