The main task of the moderators lies in accepting new members into the club. And yes, as a "moderator" I can say you could have put forward your point more "moderately".

Wait what is the fight about, this is ridiculous! Moderators theres only 4 including 1 Owner. Yes there might be many but what is the problem, we don't say you have power, we don't say we are in charge, we don't boast or show off cause you are the moderators. And why the heck are you just bringing a stupid argument? huh?

Why do you care if there are moderators just ignore it. Solve if yourself, use a bit of common sense from the brain. God just grow up

This is probably not the place to discuss this, but
arrakis08, first of all, I'm not a moderator here; let's make it sure once and for all. I, however, have some moderating experience from other forums, and I can guarantee that long-term, it's in general not a position of great power you seem to think. Lot of the time, it's mostly a pain, because you really need to commit to it, and if the forums are big, it could take a lot of your time daily. This is why it's important to have enough moderators.

Now, regarding whether Heinzkat has a right to question the way you brought up the issue, yes, he most certainly has. This is because every one of us have that right. I, for example, do think you were quite impulsive in your first post, and you have also used swearwords in some of your posts, which is, by the way, against the ruling set by the website for the clubs. Moderators, assigned by the owner of the club, are responsible of making sure that these rules (that apply to every single post made by every single user) are abided by. For this reason alone, Heinzkat already has not only a right, but a duty, to interfere the way your present yourself.

Regards,
MaCa.

Your accusations that I used 'swear words' is disrubing.
It makes you look like you don't know what you are talking about and I'm really glad that you are not a moderator here.

As far as heinzkat goes, I sent him a personal apology and look forward to moving on.

Maybe...
...you have your reasons to attack the modorators, arrakis08, I respect them.

Serious stuff
I work under a transparent atmosphere. I share information and give my best to anybody I can. However, because of my leniency and honest replies to people someone here in this thread has decided to ruin my reputation.

I am a free lance writer and tell my clients to just goggle my name, 'Don Vandivier' and they can see for themselves the articles that I've written and the many games I've annotated. I was the Editor of Michigan Chess and a free lance writer for Chess Life. I teach chess for free at public schools.

So guess what happened? Some idiot from this site thought it would be funny to create a bogus account at MySpace.com using my real name. The first thing they say is, "I want to f#ck your mom!" and then they go on to pretend to be a drug user to defecate my character.

Well, I think that this is a terrible and illegal stunt to do to anyone who is honest and shares information, but I have news for the culprit. Since I make a living as a free lance writer they have slandered my character and they are responsible for this slander. I have contacted MySpace.com and also a lawyer firm. I am told that I can't sue MySpace for the damages, but I can supine them to give the name of the person who created the bogus account.

It's just a matter of time and I will have this person in court. I expect to sue them for $300,000 in damages for illegally and purposely creating an account to slander me. It's just a matter of time and whoever did this thing will either pay hundreds of thousands of dollars and/or be sent to prison.

Sincerely,
Don Vandivier

Don
Just to tell you that what that person did is low.
Even when you are mad at someone, that is not the thing to do.
I checked it, but are you sure it is from someone here on GK?

Sad...
This is exactly why I don't visit such places.

How can you be certain it's someone from GK? I wonder how anyone from here could have figured out your real name if you only give it to your clients?

I gave my real name here, in this thread.
However the bogus account at MySpace has disappeared. I don't know if it's because of my legal proceedings or the person realized he was going to get caught.

Thanks for your support,
Don

The Blinding Lights
Hi,

My name is Anne and I have the honour of being co-captain of the blinding lights team. We are a new and small team and I haven't been co captain for very long. I'm hoping to learn the ropes by listening to advice from you more experienced captains and co-captains. I'm keen to exchange ideas about things which work and things that have been tried and failed.
Anyway, enough for now.
Thanks for letting me join and good luck with your games

Speedtouch International
Hi - I'm co-captain of Speedtouch International, founded by remybear (Will), who co-opted me as co-captain, at the same time paying the increase in my sub! Will is a great captain, who, despite studying for a degree, is still devoting many hours to the team. We like to play our games fast and share the games around the team, keeping everyone involved. We have some strong >2000 players, several middling players like myself, whose ratings bounce around a lot, and several lower rated players who relish the chance to play in a team. We used to frequent the riot what riot club but that seems to have died from lack of activity, so I'm browsing around for further stimulation.

Team Aston 294
Hello, I am one of the co-captains of team ASTON 24 and i am thankful for our captain tony together with kapishagarwal for entrusting me the responsibility of what they have started years back. I joined GK last Nov only as a premium subscriber. I am not a chess fanatic until i joined and signed up to GK. I found myself playing again since i was 12. Chess for me was just one of my fascinating experience as a boy. ( learned it when i was 9) And I remember how i give older people headaches when playing with me. My older brother told me once that I could go far on playing this game but sad to say it just turned out to be fad for me since chess is not really supported in our country. ( although our country had the first Asian GM in the history). At the age of 19 i came to the US and migrated.
Unbeknown to me that Chess is still a part of me that was just slumbering in my mind.
Because of this game I can say that it have become my beautiful mistress, an anti-depressant and a good memory recovery database in which my wife only complains about the first.
I owe this consciousness to my friend kapishagarwal who humbly approached me to become a member of team aston294 and promised me a good game experience which I have, and here is the kicker, the guy is an official GM and teaching chess in India. (pls. read his profile)
So if you are looking for a team to Join in and be inspired by the beauty of this game, Try TEAM ASTON 294 and meet all our team members. currently we are the third biggest team in GK and counting. I'm just glad I'm a part of this team.
