Possible improvement of team interface1. I was in a situation that a player timed out a few team matches but he still appeared available for team matches. I didn't want to evict him, since I wanted to check with him if he had a reason for timing out. But I didn't want to set him up new matches either, because I didn't know if he will continue to play. So I had to decline a few challenges by other captains 2. I'd like to be able to limit the number of matches for new players. There are some members of my team that have my complete confidence and can play as many matches as they want. But I'm not eager to set up 12 matches for someone that hasn't finished a single team match, and that joined GK a month or two ago. The way it is now, I set up many matches for new players because other captains send challenges, and I don't like to decline without a good reason This change could save us all much time |

I've found that if you continually decline matches (because the only available person is one you don't want to give matches to) you stop getting challenges and can even get your challenges declined. |

May be interestingMessage from GameKnot customer support: Hello, heinzkat, We simply want to encourage everyone's participation in the team games, if they are part of the team. There are already ways to stop being added to new team matched (setting a vacation flag, not logging in to one's account for more than 2 days, leaving the team temporarily, etc.). Plus we are talking about 2 games being the minimum, which is hard to imagine as an impossible amount of games to play even for players that only participate in a handful games at a time. Thank you for choosing GameKnot as your premier chess battlefield! I'd like to see time-outs visible on team pageToday I noticed one of my players timed out on ONE game, but has three other team games going (which stand in danger of timing out as well). A captain might spot a timeout via the player's graph, when it goes sharply downhill, but it is of no use when only ONE game is timed out. I think captains need some warning, so they can try to reach the offending player via email. What say the rest of you? Maria Team RC |

very time consuming... but I check every game. One other capt mentioned for those that use Firefox to install cool previews... I did - huge huge difference in time spent - basically you allow your cursor to pause on a link and it quickly brings up a side page view.... good luck... |

How about this addition?Does this idea sound useful? Maria p.s. happy holidays to all, and have the best new year ever! |

I use it to put info like: days per move, suppose a challenge is cancelled by the opposing captain with a note: this players does only do 7-days games, then I note that. If you hold the mouse over his username, it appears with the current rating, finished games and top rating last 90 days. But, Maria, there should be the same feature for teams that is true! Jo |

I never would have noticed...Even that note function will be very helpful, okay, maybe not as helpful as putting notes on the team page, but certainly better than nothing. Now I wonder how LONG the notes will stay up? Only ten days? Only 21 days? I need to refer to these notes indefinitely. And how much text can we paste into the note? I wish GK had a better help section, or FAQ section for teams. Sometimes I feel I am just blundering around teamwise until I find my way, or someone nice (like you) points me in the right direction. Much thanks, Maria |

MariaAnd how much text? Didn't try that, but for me, enough to put my remarks in. And, thank you for your compliment!! Jo |
