A sad story
I am Jo, formerly known as co-captain of UNITED DOGGZ.
I want to tell you about the maltreatment of our captain, because what he did is (for me) not correct.

He started his team in July this year. He has to be at work a lot, and was searching for a co-captain and asked me. I was a free member then and I agreed, so I paid a platinum membership (which I do not regret). Most of the new members were brought in the team by me.
I was loyal to him and the team, did most of the work, but, I understood, because he did not have much time.

Three weeks ago, he did not appear online anymore, timed-out. I asked GK to make me captain, but they said I had to wait until he was offline for 30 days.

Yesterday, he re-appeared and sent the following msg to the team:

Hello, team!
Team I had computer problems and I'm back. Sorry for the games that was lost. Will be here for now on...

I sent him back:

Glad to hear from you, at least you are okay.
We are still recovering from time-outs: the ones you made, **** had 4, *** left the team, because she moves to another country and has no internet acces there, and she did resign all her games. That means that our rating is low, we are still gonna lose challenges because all of that.... anyway, we are still fighting. You can see there are some newbies in the team.
I also think we have to make a policy about time-outs.

By the way, wasn't there a computer somewhere where you could postpone your games? 17 time-outs is a hell of a lot!

Contact me, please.

Today, when I opened the site, I saw I was removed from the team. When I checked the team, I saw he removed everyone! I am shocked, wanted to know why he did so, but I can't contact him because he put me on the ignore list....

I think this is not the way to act for a captain, people did their very best, I received a mail from one of the members that he wants to know why I removed him from the team....

I am going to start another team one of these days, I sent a msg to all the members to tell them it wasn't me, to apologise and that they are welcome in the team I want to start....

If I have a new team, he won't get challenges of me that is for sure.

Re a sad story
Hi Jo, if I were you I should create a new team immediately, give it a similar name to your old team if you so wish and then contact all your old team members and invite them to join you!
I should also consider resigning your old team games depending on how many you have current.

"I should also consider resigning your old team games depending on how many you have current."

Why would anyone do that? They are still rated games with the same position on the board, nothing is going to change that.

Also, first consider just joining another team! There are already quite a few good-spirited teams around so why reinvent the wheel?

Teamgames
Well, I decided to finish my current teamgames (not resign), out of respect for my opponents because I like to play, some of the games are interesting, and if I would resign them, I get a false rating. If I join a team or create a new one, that would not be fair.
And Dave, gonna wait a little before joining or creating a new team, first finisch this games. I contacted all the members of UNITED DOGGZ, and with got good responses for joining me.
And Heinzkat, it is no question of reinventing the wheel, I liked to be co-captain, I like to run a team, I think of creating a new one, if it doesn't turn out good, I can always join an existing one.

Anyway, it is not the end of the world, there are other options, it has just been a waste of my energy and of the energy of all those who worked for it...

wow
I feel for you. This is not right.
I hope you will join an other team or create your own. Being captain and see your team grow and prosper is really rewarding.
My team would welcome any of your old team mate.

Yikes!!
Amazing how things can become so dramatic and personal online! Sorry this happened to you and you've got to know you didnt do anything wrong! I'd say, start your team right away - my vote!! You are supported by The Black Stallions as well - anything we can do to help.

Hang in there!!!

I had the same thing happen with another team
I had actually met the captain in person when I was on a business trip in her area. All of a sudden she kicked me off the team. Then a short while later she kicked everyone off the team. That is how Ray started Guardians. She did other things like playing under another alias and inventing a whole new personality. Very bizzarre.

It so disinfranchised me for team playing that it took a while before I joined another team. And then finally came into the replacement team through someone I had kept in touch with.

Like britgrl says, hang in there.

Well,
I will hang in here, do not worry. Thanks for the support!
I am going to create a new team, not right away, will first end the most of the team games. Most of the ex-members of "UNITED DOGGZ" will join me. Maybe it is also good to wait a little, everyone has time to decide rationally, the emotions will not effect a decision anymore.

Again, thx=

Jo
