Endgame BooksDvoretsky's Endgame Manual by IM Mark Dvoretsky 1st Ed was in 2003 & 2nd Ed in 2006. Silmans Complete Endgame Course by IM Jeremy Silman. Endgame Strategy by IM Mikhail Shereshevsky. Shereshevsky explains the basic principles of the endgame. Basic Chess Endings by GM's Reuben Fine & Pal Benko is always a classic. A must have book, not for engames only, is My System by Aron Nimzowitsch. |

Chess booksThe Dvoretsky-Yusupov chess school has played a key part in the rise to chess stardom of many of today's top young GMs; for example Peter Svidler, Vadim Zviaginstev, Alexei Alexandrov and Sergei Movsesian. I have many of their books & have read & reread them many time. The one thing that standouts to me is that they teach the endgame first & work back to openings. Here are just a few books by Mark Dvoretsky that I know will help any player with their chess. School of Chess Excellence 1: Endgame Analysis School of Chess Excellence 2: Tactical Play School of Chess Excellence 3: Strategic Play School of Chess Excellence 4: Opening Developments Dvoretsky's Endgame Manual |

Endgame booksI would also suggest looking through Capablanca's Best Chess Endings by Irving Chernev; it has 60 chess games of one of the best endgame specialists- Capablanca. |
