Best endgame book?
I'm really interested - especially from higher rated players - to have your
recommendation about endgame books. Are there some you highly recommend?
If you had to choose one to recommend, what would it be? Thanks a lot.

Endgame Books
Fundamental Chess Endings by Karsten Muller & Frank Lamprecht is a very good book.
Dvoretsky's Endgame Manual by IM Mark Dvoretsky 1st Ed was in 2003 & 2nd Ed in 2006.
Silmans Complete Endgame Course by IM Jeremy Silman.
Endgame Strategy by IM Mikhail Shereshevsky. Shereshevsky explains the basic principles of the endgame.
Basic Chess Endings by GM's Reuben Fine & Pal Benko is always a classic.

A must have book, not for engames only, is My System by Aron Nimzowitsch.

Silman's complete endgame is the only one I have looked at and it seemed good.

endgame materials
Thanks much, ck and ak, for your suggestions. One other suggestion, which came from one of the top 10 players on gk, is Karsten Meuller's endgame series on DVD from ChessBase.

Chess books
IM Mark Dvoretsky is regarded as the world's leading chess trainer He has been an International Master for nearly thirty years, and included among his many accomplishments are the preparation and development of world famous Grand Masters, such as Artur Yusupov, Sergei Dolmatov, Alexei Dreev, Andrey Zvyagintsev, and Victor Bologan. He has also assisted in the preparation of such chess superstars as Garry Kasparov and Vishy Anand.
The Dvoretsky-Yusupov chess school has played a key part in the rise to chess stardom of many of today's top young GMs; for example Peter Svidler, Vadim Zviaginstev, Alexei Alexandrov and Sergei Movsesian.
I have many of their books & have read & reread them many time. The one thing that standouts to me is that they teach the endgame first & work back to openings.
Here are just a few books by Mark Dvoretsky that I know will help any player with their chess.
School of Chess Excellence 1: Endgame Analysis
School of Chess Excellence 2: Tactical Play
School of Chess Excellence 3: Strategic Play
School of Chess Excellence 4: Opening Developments
Dvoretsky's Endgame Manual

Endgame books
Silmans Complete Endgame Course and Dvoretsky's Endgame Manual are both really good.

I would also suggest looking through Capablanca's Best Chess Endings by Irving Chernev; it has 60 chess games of one of the best endgame specialists- Capablanca.

Endgame book
The best endgame book is the one you actually study.
