I think it's winnable. Let us look at the position as a puzzel to be solved and we will be better for it. I saw that line somewhere, but let's take advantage of this opportunity and solve it for mate.

Qa7 looks a bit better to me than Qd7.

I fear a lot white's g-pawn. 38... Qd7 controls d column and attacks a-pawn but Qz7 perhaps leads to open game... Difficult to say here for me. Possible continuations:
38...Qa7 39. gxh5 Rxd4 40. Re7+ Qxe7 41. Qxd4...
38...Qa7 39. gxh5 Qe3 Bd3 40. Qe7+ Qxe7 41. Rxe7 Kh6? 41. Re6 Rxa4 42. Rxf6+ Kxh5 43. Rf8 Ra1+ 44. Kh2 Nxf5 45. Rxf5 Bxf5 46. Rxf5 ... (wins a pawn)

Pardon, too late too tired yesterday. Even now .... I dont remember at all what i had in mind, maybe 38...Qa7 39. Re4 or 38...Qd7 39. Re4 (c5?) hxg4 40. hxg4 c5....
sorry too tired these days to concentrate. Just take the move Qa7...

I can see white moving 40.Qe3 or Re3 and following it up with 41.Re7+, thus forking our King and Queen. And if we don't move our pawn we'll lose it or waste a tempo supporting it. I don't see a better move and reluctantly I'll go with 39...c5.

If 39...c5 40.Qe3 Rd7 (preventing the fork with 41.Re7+) 41. d5 hxg4 42.hxg4 Rf7.
If 39...c5 40.Re3? cxd4!
If 39...c5 40.Qe1 Rd7 41.gxh5 Qc7

if 39...hxg4 40.hxg4 then what for black?
