A New Thematic GameIt would be great to play cadavre again or someone like easy19. Why not list the player you would like to play against & the thematic opening. |

But the versov i do not like. I like to play games like this Traxler Variation - 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bc4 Nf6 4. Ng5 Bc5 Delayed Blackmar Diemer Gambit - 1. d4 d5 2. Nc3 Nf6 3. e4 Alekhine Defence 4 pawns - 1. e4 Nf6 2. e5 Nd5 3. d4 d6 4. c4 Nb6 5. f4 Blackburne Gambit - 1. e4 e5; 2. Nf3 Nc6; 3. Bc4 Nd4 Hippopotamus Defence - 1. e4 Nh6; 2. d4 g6; 3. c4 f6 Demolition Derby (Nuke the sicilian ) - 1. e4 c5 2. f4 d5 3. Nf3 dxe4 4. Ng5 Nf6 5. Bc4 Bg4 6. Qxg4 Nxg4 Or perhaps the Anti-Veresov Opening - 1. d4 d5 2. Nc3 Nf6 3. Bg5 But even better would be asking tactical_abyss if he is up for game using the Trompowsky Attack - 1. d4 Nf6 2. Bg5 i think he would like. |

I really enjoyed my match against the club, much more difficult than I had anticipated. After having played in a mini-tournament on the same opening moves, I discussed the opening with a player called Krill. We both agree that if Black and White are equally prepared, the best White can hope for is a draw, but really and truely Black should win. If anyone is interested, the tournament is at the closing stages now and can be viewed here -> gameknot.com Most important are Krill's games, he's a great player that annoys the crap out of me. . . in a good way |

my suggestion me vs club playing the Traxler Variation - 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bc4 Nf6 4. Ng5 Bc5 and the club may decide the color... |

If you count our last 4 matches, which is from where we've been of a similar rating, I have an even record against him of - 1 win, 1 loss and 2 draws. If you take it back to november 2007, then it's - 1 win, 5 losses and 3 draws. I will say we haven't played in 2009 or 2010 so far, so I am basing what I say on rememberance of games played rather than anything current. |

Possible challenge? My purpose is mostly coaching some members in general play. We benefit by communicating to each other candidate moves while learning how to best analyze a board. My rating is probably the highest on the team. So far, an 1100+ player and 1400+ are interested. We are far from some of your skill levels but would enjoy the learning opportunity. I look forward to your response, ideas, suggestions, potential themes, recommendations, etc. joe@Yeshua's Army |
