Colle-Zukertort mini tourney sign-ups
We are taking sign-ups for a thematic invitational mini tournament on the Colle-Zukertort opening: 1.d4 Nf6 2.Nf3 d5 3.e3 e6 4.Bd3 *.

We would like to run a couple of sections, >1800 ratings and <1800 players. Mini tournaments require 5 to 11 players, so we need a minimum amount of 5 players per section. Please let me know if you are interested in playing in the tourney and I'll send you a sign-up link.

Reply via this thread or a message to me. This tourney is limited to Club Morphy members.

Colle-Zukertort mini tourney sign-ups
The response for sign-ups has been faster than expected. We currently have 11 members with an under 1800 rating who have signed up for the mini tourney. And that fills the <1800 rated section of the mini tourney. Members with a rating of <1800 may still sign up, but they will be placed on a waiting list to fill vacated slots by any of the initial 11 who are unable to play. If there are 5 or more <1800 rated players on the waiting list, we will start another <1800 section. We are still taking sign-ups for the >1800 section.

Current roster for the <1800 section is listed below and an invitation link will be sent to them. I thank all of you for your interest in the tournament and your prompt response. I enjoy the Colle-Zukertort opening and will post some links to articles/videos for those who are interested in it’s theory and application.

Thanks again,
jc

No worries! Aside from a couple of people on the site, your secret sources are safe.

Colle-Zukertort mini tourney sign-ups
Well, I'm very glad for your hosting: let's try this opening. I'll study next days, and I'll be ready to the challenge.
Add me to the tournament's list, please.

Ha!
You guys are safe by my account. I never look at any of those sources anyway. Isn't it a bit like using a search engine in studying the opening ahead of time? It takes the fun out of the game using someone Else's analysis beforehand----it's a crutch---I say walk like a man and think for yourself--------------I'm sure I'll get a response----lol

Colle Zukertort mini tournament >1800 section
We now have the minimum required of 5 players for this section. However, I have run into a technical problem. The problem is that if I host this mini tournament section I am automatically entered into it, which defeats the purpose since my rating is below 1800. The only solution I see is for a member with a rating >1800 who has a premium subscription of gold or higher to host the section.

Setting up the mini-tourney is easy.
-Go to TOURNAMENTS/My mini tournaments/Start new mini-tournament and the set up box appears
-click on "Switch to "no points"/"no rating limits" at the bottom of the box
-click on time control and set for max of 9 days
-set number of players to 5 if the host has already signed up or 7 if he/she is a new sign up
-title the tournament "Colle-Zukertort >1800 section"
-click on "Set up starting position" and make the following moves: 1.d4 Nf6 2.Nf3 d5 3.e3 e6 4.Bd3
-click on "Start mini-tournament"
-A board will appear with the position along with a box to invite the other 4 (5) players who have signed up.

I will be available to assist with any questions. Send me a message if you are interested in volunteering. Players who have signed up to date are:
mcrachel (1892)
easy19 (2243)
andreabax (2213)
inpassant (1900)
cadavre-opa- (2168)

Thank you! I very much appreciate your help. I'm playing in the <1800 section and wish to concentrate on those games. However, I and several others will regularly check in on the games as they progress. Thanks again.

Just to let anyone that is interested know, the over 1800 tournament is now 71% complete.

We've had a couple of issues with time-outs:
(*) Freddy (easy19) managed to complete 6 games (5 wins, 1 loss) before having to withdraw
due to other issues
(*) Raúl (impassant) timed out of 3 games so far
(*) Andrea (andreabax) timed out in 1 game (against Freddy, when Andrea had a bit of an
advantage)

It's down to three players that still have a chance of winning:
cadavre-opa- 9 pts (2 games remaining)
andreabax 4.5 pts (6 games remaining)
mcrachel 3 pts (7 games remaining)

andreabax and mcrachel still have to play each other twice. And cadavre-opa- still has to play
both andreabax and mcrachel once.

It's going down to the wire

Update on <1800 section
Thanks for the update on the over 1800 section. It looks like a good fight among the three.

For the <1800 section-

-It is 93% completed.
-It looked like johnclark had it, but with two recent losses to epi and sad1lad, it is now a fight
between johnclark and sad1lad for first and sham and kansas for third.

Johnclark has 15.5 points (with 2 games to complete).
Sad1lad has 15.5 points (with 1 game to complete).
Shamusb has 14 points (with 1 game to complete).
Kansasjayhawk has 14 points (with 1 game to complete)
