Nakamura's Breakthrough!
In spite of several unexpected defeats and in spite of facing the drawish Petroff, Nakamura showed today a brilliancy in endgame play!
After 46...Be5, it is White to play and NOT to draw!

Stockfish one of the strongest free engines and at a adepth of 34 suggested the natural looking 47.Bd5 with a slight advantage for White (+0.6). Indeed I would come up with such a move in this position but only with draw in my intention.
However, Naka played the brilliant and totally unexpected 47.g5!! Stockfish, which could not find this move on its own, gave White a score of (+1.69) after playing 47.g5.

There is always room for human creativity!
Here is the PGN of the game. Enjoy!

Win
I wonder what Nakamura would have done if Giri had played 52....Kxf7 instead of Kxd7?
It is a rook + 6 pawns vs 2 bishops + 3 pawns.
52.... Kxf7 53. Bf5 Kg7 54. Kg3 Rf8 55. Kg4 Rf7 56. Bxc5 Rf6 57. Be4 Rf4+ 58. Kg3 Rxe4 59. dxe4 h5 60. Bb6 Kg6 61. Bc7 Kf6 now black has the threat of d3 and soon h4.
