I did not see a notice in the message alerts about this, so perhaps it may good to send out the alerts for other members, who did not get the message.
bigpeta 27-Sep-12, 13:07	disappointing response i will have to message all members to make sure they know how to see new posts. hopefully this will generate a better response count. julio the new challenger is ionadowman rating over 2000. some of you will have played against him already. I will also be running the game away from the site clock so if you wish to track the whole game you will need to put it on your own computers using something like arena which is free.

Has me thinking that I've never played 1. ...g6 or 1. ...Nc6. May have to try those in my regular games. (have been having fun with less popular openings. recently drew with 1. ...c6 and won as black with 1. d4 e6) Thanks for your efforts Pete. Will understand if you suspend things until people get back from whatever they're doing. If we do play, add my vote to any others for 1. ...c5.
efc8 06-Oct-12, 14:37	New vote game I can't remember Fisher replying e5 to e4, he always play c4. Yet, most of his games are opened with e4. Therefore, e5 must be hard to defend against e4.

N's can be very treacherous(marked by hidden danger) and although a B is usually regarded as slightly superior at times (because of it's long range capability) a N can be more powerful depending on the situation and positional game pattern, if used skilfully. Note: This is my own opinion and not derived from a publication or other type of instruction.

joejoe_65324 13-Oct-12, 16:01	now what i normaly do is move my knight to d4. sometime it works somwetime it doesnt. than some people do take the pawn thats on e5. just saying i always move my knight to d4. but for now i think the best move would be knight to f6.
stealth-invader 13-Oct-12, 19:39	Yes 3.....f6 As usual, in this opening, ion is threatening f7,however 3.....Nf6 is a good preventative measure in my opinion, and also develops a second piece, which will provide additional support at d4, where we can place our d pawn to block the B threat, and vie for central control

fr1ar 15-Oct-12, 14:32	Bc5 I would lean towards Bc5 because of the attack on f2, and I think that the B on the g1-a7 diagonal will be a good position later, for one thing after whites 0-0, f2 is pinned which may gain us a little tempo. I don't think I would be ready to commit my Ns yet, White will try to dominate center, so it might be better to play Nge7 or Nh6 for a Kingside attack when we know exactly how white is going to develop.

stealth-invader 16-Oct-12, 10:12	Yes...but Joe, I agree with you, but even though we have both analyzed the game thoroughly, 3...Bc5 is a viable alternative and even if 3.....Nf6 is better, it can wait for the time being, until the next move, which we should not ignore, so that we may continue basic development procedure. Let's go with the other suggestion for the sake of fluent continuation, agree?
