A.J. Fink from San Francisco and Ua Tane from Samoa were long-distance friends who independently composed nearly identical positions with this theme at the same time. Upon finding out the coincidence, they agreed to share credit for the prolbme.

1. cxd7? Nc6!

I spent an hour analysing Bb1, missed the one move that black can defend with, and then gave up when I discovered it was incorrect. The actual solution would seem the next natural move once you discover Bb1 is not the correct zuzgwang move.

It's a great puzzle. Those who think it's bad obviously do not realise there is only one solution.

el problema es genial porque las blancas con su primer jugada no amenazan ningún mate este detalle de zug swang(esta mal escrita perdón ) es lo que hace tan dificil resolver este problema.

It is a good chess problem. Every chess piece has a "job to do" in the board.

How did I miss that????!! It always seems so obvious after seeing the solution (after 1/2 an hour of studying the position )
