Please see all moves on the puzzle window1. Ke7 Bxd5 2. Kxf6# (Black's bishop is pinned) 1. Ke7 Rxd5 2. Rxa4# (Black's rook is pinned) The main purpose of 1. Ke7 is to get away from the knight pin, putting a lot of pressure on f6 (knight+king). Now 2. Nxf6# (with double check) is possible if the knight is preserved, unlike in the lines I mentioned. |

WOW!!Once I realised the K was the only thing holding back the mate, it was just a matter of seeing where it could go without being checked. I love the sort of puzzle that makes me feel proud to have solved it, even if it's only two moves. This one was brilliant! |
