I'd say it's more of a double discovered sacrificial check.

It's a nice theme, but the board is too cluttered! Don't know why all the extra pieces are needed, unless it's to confuse you... which I don't care for.

So I'm sitting here looking at this and wondering why isn't this a mate in three? Then I see that unnecessary extra rook setup on the 7th rank. By the way, it's not necessary to say "discovered" double check; all double checks include a discovery or two. It's even possible to have two discovered checks at once.

Fun puzzle. phoneybenoni, how can you have two discovered check at once? I can't visualize it.

royoetting, you can have two discovered checks at once after an en passant capture. For instance, WBf4, WRh4, WPh5 vs. BPg7 BKh6. If Black blocks the bishop's check by ...g5, then hxg6 e.p. gives discovered check from both bishop and rook. It's actually happened in a game.

phoneybenoni, Thanks for the answer. It is simple when you see it. Every time I tried creating the situation I was putting the King on the back rank. Thanks.
