Black's last move should be Bd1 taking the Queen
What the hell the black is doing like this? Not taking the Queen nor taking the Knight also! But move the knight instead? The puzzle should be more realistic.

hmm, very weird looks like black needs a move, this is a well-known opening:
1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 d6 3. Bc4 Nc6 4. Nc3 Bg4 5. Nxe5 Bxd1 (compared to diagram, Bishop at d1 instead of g4)

Useful
This puzzle is easy to figure out but is very useful because you could find yourself in this position against a low-rated player and head for an early lunch.

very useful? On Nf3xe5, this puzzle shows its threat, however it is all refuted if black answers with Nc6xe5

Thwack, it doesnt say ´what blacks last move was,it says whites last move was. God know what blacks last move was. It doesnt say why black doesnt take the queen or more importantly the knight and it doesnt really matter does it? The puzzle is made as is,lots of puzzles are made from impossible (or rather extremely unlikely) situations but you just have to solve what is in front of you!

Mat de Legal

This chekmate is known as "mat de Legal" after a famous game against Saint Brie - 1750. Kermur de Legal was the mentor of Philidor, a more known player.

If it were Black's move in the puzzle position, he should simply play ...Nxe5 instead of taking the queen.

Need original puzzle
What i tried to say is that this puzzle is a duplicate of the original Mat de Legal one that already exist in Gameknot. And the modification is not realistic because black's missing one move like terndrop said (even if the black is not missing the move, the black is making weird move respond to white's Nxe5). Even if it is realistic, it's not original!

How about making another duplicate of this puzzle with modification by removing some of the piece of pawn or rook or knight? I'm sure they will be qualified as legal puzzles as Gameknot's bot in checking the duplicate will find them as different puzzles.

But WE as human player will find that it's the same anyway and will encounter the same puzzles with a little bit unnecessary modification over and over again. Have you encountered this problem? Encounter the same daily puzzle as last week's or last month over and over again?

We (whoever that's on the same side with me) need original puzzle. Not a duplicate-from-original-one-then-modify. And please stop duplicating puzzles.
