With these forced mates a good way to see if a 'quiet' first move by white like Rxb7 works is to see if black has any checks. In this case black has Qxf1+ or Qg6+ which ruins the mate in 2 so white needs something more forcing on his first move.
Apologies if this is stating the obvious!

Had a few problems at first. It is easy, though, when realizing where the mate will be delivered
