I agree with you. It is a classical trick (or technique), but elegantly converted in a 5 moves to mate puzzle. When I saw, many years ago, this way to pass a pawn in a 3 vs 3 pawns in a book by Ludek Pachman, I was very impressed. A very good an instructive puzzle.
