first, I started checking promotions to a minor piece, but nothing worked. And then I stumbled on this idea of a discovered check, very elegant

just curious ...
... I got this one correct, but I am curious about one thing. On the second move, if you convert the pawn into a rook rather than a queen, that also would result in checkmate. (I'm not sure why you would do that in this situation, but technically it would work.) I'm curious as to whether the system is designed to mark that as a correct answer or an incorrect answer.

@ gomerpyle1999: getting a rook only works if the king moves down, otherwise you need to promote to a queen to prevent the king moving to c6
