I always enjoy attempting Loyd puzzles, the solution is always a clever one.

yup! But it's a easy one if u pay a bit of attention and u don't burst to the obvious.... Clever means he can play your solution 2 ways as he pleases - clever as sharp, technical, strategist or clever as amazing, silk, witty. He's cleverness may be very well pure technique as well as offhand (relaxed), casual. So in this puzzle throws at you his bet and you take it as a scheme when in fact he doesn't trick you at all playing Innocent because he is   (this time...) cause he always is way ahead of the opponent, you,me or whomever. That's the secret I guess - to be so clever and still play as you're not that..... clever etc
If I'm wrong, please contradict me - arguments included

Another way.
Alternate method would be for the knight to put king in check, then the pawn would have to take the knight. Next move would be then to bring the rook down for checkmate. Another two move solution.

The "other way" is wrong
Once the pawns take the knight the WK is in check
