FEN notationThis is what the puzzle looked like in FEN notation! The ep switch is given through the square being called out after everything else, in this case, f6, indicating Black's previous move was from f7-f5. |

![]() Unless you want to fool people who can't see an en passant you are better off avoiding the trick. Or perhaps others here need to be reminded of en passant and you want to teach them a sort of sordid lesson again and again and again. |

Link to ... puzzle #5545 (see discussion). I reckon it makes more sense to point out that f6 is a valid move for white's pawn on e5!
