Interesting...The idea of letting go the e5-Knight is soon embraced when you discover that 4.f4ch pulls the King into White's field on the K-side. After that it's easy, once you realise that 0-0-0 is not part of the plan: the rook is protected by the checking bishop at moves 8 and 9. Having worked all this out I just had to check it was indeed 9 moves. Did I do this in my head? Nah. Just my board. Took maybe 5 minutes or so. |
