so the Knight coming to e4 is threatening to take the rook on d1 by checking on f2. But why does the queen have to sacrifice ? Or is it just that after 2. Qxf8+ Kxf8 3. Rd8+ Ke7 4. Rd7+ white is hoping for 4. ... Kf6 so that 5. Rxf7# can be played ?
Is there really no hope for white after losing its rook? Or is there something else i don´t see?
