Makes sense, but...
Why not 2.Re4!? Mating threat persists as best as I can work it out, and lack still loses their queen after 2. ...Bxe4.

Re4 gives Black a way out. Such as 2. Re4 e5 3. Rxe5 Qxb6 or 2. Re4 e5 3. Qxe5 Qxe5 4. Rxe5
