Need to fix this exercise!
After 2.Kh4, Black can mate by playing ...N7 (or ...N5) to g6+, 3.fxg6 Nxg6# To penalize someone for finding mate is really backwards!

If 2...,Ng6 then 3.FxG6. if 2...,Rxh2 then#.

vonmisesfan, mate in 2 is preferable to mate in 3. The rules state

β€œThe goal of Chess Tactics is to gain maximum advantage in the shortest possible number of moves.”
β€œ...your goal is to gain even more advantage, or to find the absolute quickest way to checkmate.”

Tactics training should help the player to improve his/her practical play through strengthening tactical ability. Mate in 3 wins just as surely as mate in 2, but penalizing mate in 3 by reducing the player's tactical rating is counterproductive.

Instead of just quoting the rules rigidly, it would be better to make exercises that are unambiguous. Please be aware that I saw the mate in 3 in less than 1 second. Naturally I assumed that it was the solution, and a person in that situation doesn't necessarily even look to read if the solution is 2 moves or 3. Besides, the double knight sac is more aesthetically interesting.

Regardless of what the rules state, my goal is to improve my play overall, not just to find the absolute quickest win. In fact, in an over-the-board tournament that is rated, I might even prefer a line that wins the opponent's queen (or some other massive material gain) OVER a line that checkmates in x moves, simply because the lesser line leads to an easier win in which I don't have to worry about overlooking a trick by my opponent.

Sorry for the lengthy reply. I hope that clarifies what I am trying to say.

I quoted the rules because many people don't read them or understand the purpose of this program.
I was just trying to help, and I don't write the rules or make up the puzzles. Perhaps you should contact the administrator of the site and raise the issues that you mentioned.

I thought I was! I assumed that commenting on the tactical exercises was read by the administrator; didn't realize that it was for the author.
