I think this works:

3.Bd4 Kf7
4.Qg7+ Ke6
5.Qf6+Kd5 (here white could play QxR next and be ahead)
6.Bc5+ Kc4
7.Qd4#

Yeah that works, so it's a lost situation for Black, 2. Rxd7 Qxd7 extends the game by 2 moves for black but I don't think it makes the game as hard for white. Still, lost is lost I suppose.
