Yes, but Ba2 seals it, I believe.

2. Qf3 Qa1
3. b4 Ba2
4. bxc5 Qxb1#

or

3. b4 Ba2
4. Rd3 Qxb1#

Since the knight is covering the escape square d2, I suppose White could play QxN, RxQ

I was convinced of 1. Qa3 Qa1 and later 2. ... Bxa3+, but that's not possible if 2. Bxe7.

We can't get around that by first putting the bishop somewhere else (1. Qe3 Bc5) because of that pawn (2. Qd3 Qa1 3. b4). Black could than play Ba2, but white has an escape route: 4. c4 Qxb1+ 5. Qxb1 Bxb1 6. Kxb1.

I also don't see why 2. Qxc5. But maybe the exercise is only what is good for black and maybe there isn't a better move then Bc5.

I'm not sure 2. Qd3 is a good alternative, since there is a knight fork with 2...Nf2
