Gah!

I spent about five minutes looking for some insane sacrifice that would lead to a checkmate (obviously there was none!). I was really disappointed when I saw the solution: winning a pawn :/

Winning two pawns, execute a pass pawn and exchange queens (other moves that doesn't involve mat for white right away lead to loosing the queen)

great lesson!

this is exactly what I love about chess tactics:
like in real games, you never know what will be possible to achieve and how many moves it will take. sometimes you have to realize that you cannot win. then it's just about avoid losing.
