Yeah, but then you take queen with rook and force a mate in about two more moves. should have been an alternate solution at least

2. f5+ Ng5 3. Bxg5+ Kxg5 4. Rxe8 ... after that regardless of his next moves, I believe that you are no more than about 2-5 moves from mate (I don't have the time to list all the combinations).

Thanks for the moves. 2. f5+ Ng5? -- that move by Black is disastrous, as you mention. A better move is 2....g5 and gives Black time to move his queen out of the pin.
