extrapolationthe first: 1... Bd4 2. Rxg6+ hxg6 3. Qxg6+ Kh8 4. Qh7# the second is a little longer and assumes that black's king will once again retreat to g8 (instead of moving Kf6) white plays 5. Qh5+: 1... Bd4 2. Rxg6+ hxg6 3. Qxg6+ Bg7 4. Qh7+ Kf7 5. Qh5+ Kg8 6. Bh7+ Kh8 7. Bg6+ Kg8 8. Qh7# in any case it should now be clear that 2... hxg6 is extremely disadvantageous for black and could very well lead to mate. |
