Black's 4th move 4.Qf3+
Moving rook at 4.Rxf5 is not appropriate as White will sacrifice it's queen for a checkmate. i.e. 4.Rxf5 5.xf5 Qxe7 6.Rb8 following a mate in about 3..
I faced this question, thought someone else will face too.... so explained..

Maybe Black realized that 1...Rxg3 was not sound and was playing for a draw, which 5. Kg1 would have done. This puzzle wasn't well thought out IMO

This is an odd puzzle indeed. Oftentimes I've missed the draw option in these puzzles but here I don't see how it's a sound play. It's possible that both colors has an equal advantage/disadvantage with this board so a draw is the most logical move. Still though, black is at more of a disadvantage with the puzzle's play so I'm lost as to its purpose.
