Which is better, 2 rooks vs 1 rook (as in the solution) or 1 rook vs 1 rook if 2...Rc1? White can play either 3. Kg1 or Rb1.

3.Rxc1( no other choice)...Rxc1#

and if you're referring to 2.Rbc1 the same thing would happen.

To garts and flaming: The original post was 'why not: 2. ... Rc1 instead of Rxb2?' Black's move, not White's.
