I moved my bishop to h2 and checked. computer moved the king to h1. then I moved my queen to f1 which is a checkmate. But it is telling me I made the wrong move? Please explain.
Moving the queen to f1 is not mate because the bishop can interpose at g1. Black can then mate by taking the bishop, but it is an extra move to mate, so Qf1 was rejected.
Correct move is 2.. Qf3# .. mate in 2 instead of mate in 3.. as breakerofwind said Bf2 can interpose on g1 if you play 2... Qf1.. so it's not checkmate !
