Surely some mishtake?
Can someone explain to me how this solution is better than 1. Rg2+ Kh1 2. Rb8 g3? This threatens mate (Rxh3#) and seems to force 3. Rf3 (if 3. Rxe3 to remove the knight from the defence of the rook on g2 then 3... Rg1+ 4. Kh2 Rg3 g2#). After 3... Rxf3 4. Rxe3 (forced, else Rxh3#) Rxe3 5. Kxg2 Rxe3 and black will be an exchange and a pawn to the good.

1. Rd1 Rb2+
2. Ka1 R8b3
3. Rc3 Rxc3
4. Rxd3

I actually noted this continuation in my comment. Black comes up an exchange AND a pawn ahead in the continuation I chose.

Right, sorry
I must have been drunk when I replied.

Your incorrect notation is very confusing. "1. Rg2+ Kh1" is impossible. If you mean this,
1......Rb2+ 2.Ka1 R8b3 then White plays 3.Rxa4 which stops the mate.
