CHESS PUZZLE #11133
I've used a hint for the first move and further on it was to answer just one question: why it was to be moved that far.

I think is because you have to make a "discover" check moving your bishop, if your tower is not that far, it will be impossible to do it.

Thats what I think, perhaps is wrong, I'm not a very good player.

And by putting your bishop in c7, you let a escape for the king.

In composed (constructed) positions, this is known as the Indian theme. White voluntarily blocks the action of one of his pieces to allow a stalemated king to move, then delivers mate by discovered check.

Any time Black has a stalemate defense, start using your bishops and rooks to block each other and see what happens. Often, you will solve a problem that baffles 90% of solvers.

Of course, it's not that easy. White could also try for an Indian here with 1.Bb8 and 2.Rc7, for example. Careful analysis is still needed, but at least you'll be on the right path.
