When you move the knight to d6, and movie the queen down to b4, can't the rook take the queen? Making it not checkmate, but simply check?

Direction of travel?
This must be a case where both kings have traveled to the other side of the board. When doing this puzzle I didn't first understand why the pawn at c3 couldn't take the queen at b4. Very interesting puzzle although a rare possibility.
