I believe it is very complicate to compose such a puzzle, still it's highly possible to come across a similar situation in the course of a real game. A good puzzle as I see it.

Must have taken the guys days if not weeks to compose it back in 1949 without any computational assistance

Great puzzle
Although 21 moves long, its is not one of those terribly complicated ones: the idea becomes clear quite soon, and it is an interesting task to figure out how to exactly apply it
