![]() 1. ... Qd3+ 2. Ka4 Nd6 Now white has a lot of options, but black can force a mate in almost any case. If white tries to capture black's knight, it is mate immediately: 3. Nxd6 Qa6#. White should defend his knight at b5 to avoid the mate 3. ... Qxb5+ 4. Ka3 Qb4#. The only apparent defense options are 3. Qxc5, 3. Rxc5 and 3. Qf1, but to all of these black can respond with 3. ... Re4+ and eventually force a mate. White's only good answer that I could find was 3. b3 (as you may have guessed, I found it after starting to write this message). No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't find a way for black to force mate after that. Please tell me if I'm wrong! |

it is also possible to mate with the rook (Rxa4#).
