I like this one...
... I think it is quite elegant.

Nice and simple!
I liked this because it's a nice break from all those puzzles that were just a series of checks leading to mate. This is a clean example of creating a mating net THEN delivering the coup de grace.

76% Sovled.

2 star difficulty
3 star aesthetics. This isn't a GREAT puzzle, but it's nice to see.

Someone a while back said that 2 move mates don't start with a check, like this one, but then there was a rash of 2 move mates that did start with a check. I'll try to keep a running score and see what is more common.

Rule
Don't move your king outside the pawn chain unless you have a good reason.

Pawn mates are my favorites: the lowest piece terminating the highest ...

Loved it
nickpalmer Great puzzle, not super hard, but harder than a lot of daily "easy" puzzles we get

This is an interesting board setup. There are 15 pawns and 2 knights. Both Kings are located in what looks like a boxing ring. Even if the mate wasn't imminent white definitely has the advantage. I feel embarrassed for black's knight. The whole thing just makes me smile.
