easier than it looks?
this puzzle has one dead give away. The queen at h1 threaten mate at any given moment this forced you to focus on it. which ultimately leads to one move queen h5. after this anybody who has experience solving hard puzzle should know to always think about crowing into a bishop or knight to cause mate. nice puzzle but it's easy to anybody who has experience solving hard chess puzzles.

I agree with radiolina, I found it hard. I also wonder why the black Queen doesn’t just take the white Queen?

Why
If you go to "Options" -> All move graph you'll see why

Mostly, with the black queen at h5, the pawn at d6 can promote and checkmate

Febreeze is right, as soon as one realises that black has a discovered check, one's strategy must be focussed on that threat. Either white must check first move, or ensure the black queen is not able to deliver check from h1 uncontested. It's then a simple case of process of elimination. I thought this puzzle was tough for 5 minutes, then it clicked and it seemed so much simpler.

would never happen with experienced players
pawn at d6 will promote but next move black queen would mate from h5 to e2 then e2 to b2 white queen would be stuck at d8 white queen sacrifice at h5 loses game for white 3 moves black

to beastmonkey you are missing the point completely the d6 pawn promotes into a knight which mates.
