So what's the knight on b1 for?
Distraction?

It's a good puzzle(without Nb1) and a good exercise. His puzzles are very often posted at "Puzzle of the day-hard"
But what's happened with his account?

Once the first move is found then the rest follows easily,I just struggled to find that first move to keep the king in the corner and avoiding the stalemate.

That's cheap, I was never going to figure it out on my own with that knight on b1. Although, that explains why I had such a tough time putting it in a useful spot.

the knight on b1 was probably making the puzzle harder to solve

Great Puzzle...
This definitely demonstrated the power of the King control squares G1, G2, and G3 while balancing the "waiting" move necessary to avoid stalemate while balancing the need of protecting/controlling the H4 square. Nb1 works as a nice distraction and make the solution a bit less obvious.

That question is so 2 days ago... ;-)
Of course, a simple distraction for lazy players that can't work out the problem in their head... and do trail and error to figure out the puzzle.
