Apparently I solved this? I must have used up all 5 choices. I was shocked when the counter went from 0/3 to 1/4. Tough problem, but fun.

Extremely tough and hard to do. When you get into them they make complete sense. You have to spend time with them. They can't be solved by a computer at all.

Ergo the low solving ratio from attempts. I think a lot of problems are not really studied before solving. They shove a queen into the heart of the king's position and usually get it right 50% of the time. If that doesn't work then they resort to computers. Problem is no computer is as smart as a human being with intellect.

The computer wasn't designed to solve a real problem! It was designed to make the "best choice" with the position and eventually corner the opponent of the computer. In a move or more later.

But the design of this problem is by a chess genius beyond the giga bytes of a chess computer like Fritz.

You can bet chess computers have been tried on this problem and they all failed.
Nothing beats human intuition, intelligence, and strategy including a computer program.

I decided to run these puzzles because I got tired of computer whiz types finding alternates faster than it takes a mind (a brilliant mind) to solve my posted puzzles.

I'm playing hard ball now....

It never occurred to me that someone would use a computer to solve problems. What the heck fun is that?

I keep trying to respond to your question about "what fun is that" but every time I post my words seem indicative.

Let us just say that I know GK has top chess players above 2000 who need time to consult their computers to win.

It is the way it is.
