![]() Going to admit it or not? And the rest that do not solve it: Going to say it is "average" with 3 stars or above average? I will know when the solving rates come in. Just because a puzzle makes you work for an answer it doesn't mean you have to be a conceited ignorant adolescent to lie. Just tell the truth. I am about truth here. I don't want lying chess players that feel insulted with egos bigger than the skull containing grey matter. |

![]() Look at some of my puzzles. I don't rate them. I let the solvers/failures do that. And look, they give them low stars, why? I like this puzzle. I admit that I wish I could come up with something as good as this. |

![]() I rate my puzzles immediately according to the design and effort to solve. I have not presented a "below average" or "average" puzzle since many moons ago. And yet I still see these very complicated puzzles unsolved with ratings of "average" or lower when they are obviously above average or 3 stars. And you are part of the problem. You admit failure but you don't rate the puzzle correctly. They (the rest) don't solve and rate the puzzle incorrectly. This is not a logical framework for anyone to "rate" a puzzle. A simple puzzle can be hard for some. A hard puzzle can be simple for some. I say we gang up on GK and do away with the individual rating system (a subjective input) and just let the solving ratio take over. I say tell GK to disallow a "rating" scheme whenever we have to solve a puzzle and deal with giving it 1-5 or 1-4 stars. I say unite against GK and tell GK a subjective rating after failing or solving a puzzle is of NO USE to the website or space here. John |

![]() Composing puzzles is very fun. But hard. I sometimes get annoyed when someone finds ALTs. Even at kingdawar. It sometimes gets very depressing. |

![]() Are you in cahoots with him now? Do you actually live in Sausalito, CA; or Denmark? Are you actually in North Carolina? I see patterns of compliance with you and Jokim (or heinzkat or kingdawar). It doesn't matter. Changing names or monickers means you made a mistake in your first name or monicker and later you felt it was necessary to make an adjustment. I kept my name (monicker) since I joined: 9422m. I did not change it. It is a Winchester Lever Action .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire. It dealt with the predators on our ranch; and besides my father, I was the only one to deal with predators with our livestock using a rifle or shotgun. The game wardens couldn't help. They tried trapping the coyotes and the coyotes either avoided the traps or chewed off their feet (or above) caught in the traps to escape disabled; but still able to come back and attack and kill livestock. The 9422M = .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire. Winchester does not make the 9422M or 9422 anymore. It costs too much in this cheap economy and society to continue so Winchester retired from producing it. Marlin keeps on going but a Marlin 39A .22 Long Rifle is not the same as the original Marlin 39A. What is coming out of Marlin today and a few years back is no longer the quality of Marlin from North Haven. I bought my 9422M back in 1972 for less than $100. Before taxes. Now look at the prices today for USED ones! www.gunsinternational.com In chess the same kind of history is invaluable. I am posting puzzles from the 1950's which are better than most of the other puzzles. I believe most of YOUR puzzles are from the past and slightly altered. And YOU say YOU invented them. I disagree.
