I would think that you, a Marine, would take offence to all the yapping of the chickenhawks. They prech war and violence without actually knowing what people like you have to go through firsthand. I, and several of your colleagues too I would presume, doubt that some of these birds wouldn't be so hawkish if they'd actually been in the line of fire.

First off our technology has lessened the incidents of civilian deaths extremely. Also if the "innocent" people of iraq would have forced Sadam to fess up there would be no problem. Secondly our armed forces are totally voluntary so they are not forced into war. Finally I truely doubt (as history has proven) that there will be much of a fight. Resources and technology are on our side. If Sadam happens to use weapons of mass destruction who will the world believe then?????......and who (France, Germany and Russia)will follow the one nation that is always in the lead.

An inglorious death? I would also like to hear your veiw on what a glorious death would be. I am just one of those stupid children who do not understand why people see so much point in death. I don't see the diffrence between dying by getting run over or fighting for your country. In any case you are still dead.

Well, I guess one of the reasons I was not called to arms....

reminds me of an excerpt from the book, "catch22." in response to the line, "it's better to die on my feet then to live on my knees," a suitable response is "it's better to live on my feet then to die on my knees." either way, i don't think that the former comment is truly justified in this case. at least i'm not convinced yet. my father works in the defense industry and i have the misfortune of working in news television, and i'm not convinced one way or the other with regards to a war in iraq. i am surprised at how many people are so adamant about their own opinions on the subject, however. it's hard for me to fathom that so many could feel that they have the authority to be so outspoken on such a topic. as a result of such numerous/ varying debate, i'm finding it best to focus my own energies on how i can improve my own life. i'm coming to the conclusion that it's always best to be on the winning team.

doubt my seriousness about fighting? my plans after college are to enter either the FBI, CIA, or military.
