How did you hear about this site? I found it because my friend(rmoss, who no longer plays here) told me about it and at the time we were both really into chess and he thought I would like this site. Well he was right. How about all of you?

I played,and still do at IYT and someone ..don't remember who, told me to take a look at GK.
The rest is history
. I still 'recuit' players from IYT to come over here.
GK .. the best by far.

I found it through a simple search engine. It was really easy and quick to start playing. It also looked very apelative and it had a je ne sais quoi that made it diferent from other chess sites.

but even before i started to play chess, i used to come to play reversi (otello) here..
i always was upset about fact taht you can't change computer levels in that game here, but yet i would come over and over again...

MY FREIND TOLD ME OF A GREAT CHESS SITE CALLED GAMEKNOT, I WAS SOMEWHAT NEW TO THE CHESS WORLD AND I LOVE IT. I TRIED OTHER SITES AND NONE COMPARE TO GAMEKNOT, THAT IS WHY I AM ON ALL THE TIME!

looked at the Fide.com site, were the 100 most popular sites was shown and there was gameknot.com at the top!
This was back in July 2001 and I have been here ever since. I also signed up for a lifetime membership, when Mike introduced that feature.

I was spying as usual.
I found this site in late december or november 2000.
I was bored. I dare not challenge anybody. I read the forums. Made comments. Found out who mike was before he became gameknot_com ...
My first few games were with doncan, onlyapawn, edmaster ... lost most of the games.
I got addicted from then onwards!
And oh yes ... after several surgeries ... my skull still aches after the 24-game (unfinished) with edmaster.
